GIGS

2nd November 2011

The Crown Inn, Theale, RG7 5BT

open-mic hosted by Roger Watson

"It Is Just There"

I always like going back to Theale, and the Crown is particularly friendly. Maybe it was a mistake to remind everyone that It's Just Not There was the first song that I tried to sing at the Crown earlier in the year and the one which I completely corpsed on (it certainly wasn't there that night!). Luckily I didn't jinx myself and all words and chords were remembered.

No dancing last night but one of the girls in the audience started tapping the tambourine to I Shall Wait Forever, which for me really worked. Coincidentally it was reminiscent when I couldn't remember the chords to It's Just Not There and the rest of the musician s in the pub worked out what I was meant to play and started playing the song back at me; it's probably still the best that song has ever sounded! It makes me think I should now start getting a band together. In the meantime, I can give you the heads up to solo gig at The Global Cafe, RISC (Reading) on 14th December. Details are to be finalised but there'll be two sets: one by me and one by Luke Paulo.

My sets:

Set 1

You've Got The Magic Back

The Things That She Said

Cold Heart

Last Night I Saw You Standing There
