The Jolly Anglers, Reading RG1 3EA

open-mic hosted by Tony Brown

Another enjoyable open-mic tonight at The Jolly Anglers though unusually the audience seemed less attentive generally than usual.

I've got to know Tyler Stroud since I've been going to the Jolly Anglers. No doubt he is a very talented singer and guitarist but I was really blown away by this clip of him playing the drums. He seems to lack confidence in his own material (which I haven't heard) and tends towards covers. I think once he has found "his own voice" he'll be an artist to be reckoned with and they'll be no stopping him. A very talented guy with matching humilty.

There are personal reasons for breaking Leonard Cohen's embargo on Hallelujah. If you want to find out what they are you'll have to come to the to the gig on the 14th (:-); latest details can be found here.

My Set:

You've Got The Magic Back
