At The Water's Edge Artwork

Well, surprise, surprise, as has seemingly been the story of this album, the artwork for At The Water's Edge CD wasn't straight-forward and took longer than I wanted or expected. I know some suspect me of being over-indulgent or twiddling my fingers / sleeping most of the day but a lot of the time has been taken up with learning new software (i.e. fighting with opacity masks, picture resolutions etc, etc) and being becalmed and just plain stuck. Yes, I think there's a good argument to made for me to have given the project to a graphic-designer but if I had, I wouldn't have gone down the cul-de-sacs that I have, discovered what I now know and which in turn have allowed me to improve on the original design. As always, it's a matter of personal taste but I'm pleased with how it now all works; it all has a bit of meaning behind it which perhaps I'll explain at some point I'm not sure. I guess there's an added bonus that I might now also be able to help others who require CD artwork too. Anyway, I reckon the At The Water's Edge artwork and master should be off for reproduction tomorrow or Thursday and then I believe I might be able to start to get some of my life back.

Inevitably this means the At The Water's Edge CD isn't yet available (should be within the next two weeks) so we've decided to extend the Bryan Ferry Competition until 11th December. Even if you can't stand what I do or even me (yes, I know there's some of you out there!) there's still a chance to win a £15 Amazon Voucher. Go on, you know you want to...

Joanne Kelly / Strawberry Sundae Radio Show

Reading DJ Joanne wrote a very nice review of a gig I did in 2012 and has played Something Wild quite a few times on her Strawberry Sunday Radio show. Later in the year I had a great interview with her which can be found here, the success of which I think was largely due to the obvious background work she did in preparation for the interview.

Understandably I'm biased because Joanne has been so favourable but I do think she does a great show if you like indie rock, hearing about upcoming bands and a lot more more besides. Strawberry Sundae is on every Sunday at 7pm for two hours. More details can be found here.
